If you are interested in adopting a baby, your best bet is to get on a waiting list. This way we will update you when the pair is placed together, when the mother gives birth, and as the babies grow. Around two weeks of age reservations will start. We will go in order of the waiting list. We are first on each list, whether we think we will want one or not, you never know what mother nature may throw out. Next is any other breeder involved with the pairing. After that it is first come, first serve.
Being on the waiting list does not guarantee you a baby, we have no control over how many babies are born in each litter. Not being on the waiting list does not guarantee you won't recieve a baby either, although your chances are not very good. We recommend you get on any list for a litter you think you may be interested in. You can back out at any time, but remember if you choose to be added back, you will loose your spot.
You may also choose to be on a general waiting list for males or females, it doesn't necessarily have to be from one specific litter.
Rats are typically pick up only. If this is not an option for you, we may be able to meet you somewhere, but please be aware we may need some gas money if traveling too far. Upon pickup please bring a travel cage of some sort. We recommend some grapes - they make great travel liquids for your little ones.
Please also be aware we will now be charging a hold fee, unless something has been worked out ahead of time. Babies need to be picked up by six weeks of age. If we need to hold them longer, there will be a fee of $5 per week, per baby. They still require food (and lots of it at this age), bedding, cage space, and personal attention.
1. We do not allow adopting out a single rat, unless you have other rats of that same sex at home.
2. We do not allow adopting two rats of opposite sex, except under special circumstances.
3. We reserve the right to deny any adoption if we feel something is not right in the situation.
4. You must complete the adoption form.
